Jayne Mcfarlane has an HND in Administration and Information Management and a BA in Information Management from the University of Abertay. She joined the group in 2004 and is the main administrator for the research group and personal assistant to Irwin McLean. Jayne manages the large amounts of national and international correspondence involved in the running of both the research and diagnostic activities of the laboratory and also maintains a number of databases for the laboratory. In addition, Jayne organises research seminars and patient support meetings, as well as planning the complex travel arrangements for members of the group.

Jayne is an avid supporter of Dundee Football Club, which should not to be confused with Dundee United, who are apparently less good.
